While no instructional book can rival a video in detail, this book is probably the best that I've found in demonstrating, step by step, painting flowers in watercolor. For each project, Dunham provides the colors and shows various mixes used, gives an overview and a value scheme at the beginning, and provides 8-10 photos showing the progressive stages of painting. To do the projects, you'll probably want to photocopy and enlarge the book's outline drawings, as well as read closely each step of the instructions. Each painting requires significant time, since much of the effect is from building up glazes (I only managed 1 of the 10 projects), but even just reading through the book will give you valuable information on developing a floral watercolor. (Side note this book is also the only one I've liked of the "Artist's Projects" series - I looked at quite a few of these but only kept this one. Unfortunately, I believe that the series, like most of International Artist's publications, is now out of print.)
